Dolphins halfback Sean O'Sullivan has backed Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow's switch to centre as he targets getting back to top form against Brisbane at the Gabba on Saturday night.
Dolphins coach Wayne Bennett has moved Tabuai-Fidow, known as 'Hammer', from fullback to left centre. Utility Kodi Nikorima, who was named on the bench, will start at fullback in the 'Battle of Brisbane'.
O'Sullivan ruptured a pectoral against the Broncos in the 18-12 round-four defeat and returned to action last week in the 48-20 loss to Parramatta.
Tabuai-Fidow has been a star at left centre for the Queensland side so adapting in club football won't be an issue for him.
"Hamiso has been going unreal at fullback but with some of our injuries and the way the team is unfolding Wayne thinks (centre) is the best spot for him at the moment," O'Sullivan said.
"Hamiso is really excited and wherever he plays he will do a job for the Dolphins.
"Kodi has played at fullback and did an unreal job when Hamiso was in Origin. It is about trying to get our best 13 on the park for a massive game. The 'Battle of Brisbane' is something everyone in the club is looking forward to."
O'Sullivan has had knee reconstructions in the past and is no stranger to rehab, saying he had put any mental demons behind me.
"It is a physical game but if you are having the mentality that you don't want to get injured or you are holding onto something ... you definitely can't be doing that," he said.
"Last week was a very big learning curve for me and one that I can put to bed and dive into this week.
"It was a little bit different to the (injuries) I've had before. I'd be lying if I said there weren't nerves there but I'm glad I got last week over and done with.
"I am excited for this week and am 100 per cent confident in my body."
The Dolphins have conceded 136 points in their last three games and that treble of losses has resulted in them slipping outside the top eight.
They must rectify that deficiency in their game.
"You look at us in the first four rounds and we really played together and valued looking after our teammates and having each other's backs," O'Sullivan said.
"We've done it before so we know we can do it. I've got to individually focus on what I have got to bring defensively and I know the 16 other boys are going to bring that."
