The final summer event to be hailed in Hamilton town centre has been hailed a huge success.
Once again thousands flocked to Quarry Street to enjoy a day full of fun and entertainment with lots to enjoy for locals young and old.
Taking place in the usual street market format, organised by Hamilton Business Improvement District (BID), Saturday's event rounded off a trio of successful summer fun days in the town.
During the last three weekends of the school holidays, Quarry Street has seen thousands gather for the events which have showcased lots of free activities for people all ages to enjoy.
It's also proved to be a fantastic opportunity for nearby hospitality firms as they set up stalls as part of the street’s food and drink markets.
At each event, more than 40 vendors took part in the markets, which added to the buzz and vibrancy created in the town centre.
Saturday's Summer Gala was scheduled for the last weekend before school resumed after the holidays and aimed to be a summer celebration bursting with entertainment.
Locals enjoyed musical performances from Abba Dream, popular drag queen Garry King, and lots more.
Youngsters were also able to try out Hamilton's new climbing centre Hang-On who held their free climbing wall in the town centre.
Also on display were fairground rides, arts and crafts workshops, face-painting, and kids' soft play.
Hamilton BID have thanked the community for another successful event and urge locals to get behind the group so they can organise more fun days in the town centre in the future.
They posted on social media: "A huge thank you to everyone that came along to our gala market event yesterday. What a fabulous day in the sun! What a turnout for our final date in town.
"Massive thanks to Halo Arts Hang On Climbing Centre, the Hamilton businesses market vendors and all of the entertainers.
"We hope that this isn’t the last ever event in town and we look forward to delivering the Light Switch on, Christmas Parade and an exciting program for 2023 in support of the Hamilton BID area and community.
"If you are a business in the BID area please vote yes for Hamilton Our Town in the upcoming ballot. Your vote will keep the planters blooming across the town, the free wi-fi running, the photography scheme and this channel promoting our town...and much more! Thank you."
