Hamilton Accies defender Megan Quinn says things won’t get much tougher for her teammates after a difficult afternoon against SWPL 1 champions Glasgow City.
Head coach Gary Doctor’s side have faced the team that play at Petershill five times in all competition this season and on Sunday lost 6-0.
Two penalties from Mairead Fulton along with goals from Tyler Dodds, Hayley Lauder, Clare Shine and Ode Fulutudilu sealed a convincing win for City, but Quinn - who was making her 140th appearance for Hamilton - isn’t too disheartened.
She believes that it’s been a lesson with plenty of tips for Accies, who aren’t in action until next month’s derby with Motherwell on April 17.
The 27-year-old said: “It’s probably been a good learning curve for us as we have played them five times now. What more can you do when you are playing the champions?
“I don’t think that’s ever happened to us. You get to know the players really well which is one positives from it. Then we need to try and keep the goal count down.
“You are down 3-0 at half-time and you know you aren’t winning the game. It’s good to put yourself up against international players and trying to reach that level yourself.
“I suppose in that sense it’s good, but I think that is about all we can take from it.”
Hamilton remain eight points adrift of Hearts at the bottom of the table.
