Theatre goers have been left delighted after it was announced that Hamilton is touring the UK and it's coming to Edinburgh's Festival Theatre.
Hamilton is based on the 2004 book Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow - with the musical telling the story of a Scotsman who became an American Founding Father.
It'll run for nine weeks in Scotland between Wednesday, February 28, and Saturday, April 27, next year. Tickets go on general on Monday, March 13, 2023.
Scots actor Rueben Joseph is playing the lead role of Alexander Hamilton in London's West End production.
Chief executive of Capital Theatres, who run the Festival Theatre, Fiona Gibson, said: “We’re utterly thrilled to be hosting the Scottish premiere of Hamilton at the Festival Theatre.
“It’s even more significant that Alexander Hamilton was of Scottish descent, so in many ways the story is coming home.
“To have this iconic show which has delighted audiences round the world here at the Festival Theatre and in Edinburgh where Lin-Manuel Miranda once busked at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe is really special.”
The cast of Hamilton performed at the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee party outside Buckingham Palace last summer.
