The second of three summer events in Hamilton town centre took place on Saturday as locals turned out in their numbers once again for a day of fun and cheer.
Music, dance and entertainment was aplenty as crowds of thousands young and old gathered for the town’s Fashion Fun Day.
That saw local businesses strut their stuff during a series of glamorous catwalk displays on Quarry Street.
Shops, salons and make-up firms showed off an array of talent and products as they posed for the many in attendance.
Manager of Hamilton Business Improvement District (BID) Malcolm Thomas-Harley said: “It was another tremendous day. The place was packed and there was so much free stuff for kids to do.
"It was lovely to see them interact with the circus performers on the street, and the additional play outdoor activities we had on the street.
"The street was buzzing, the vendors were fantastic, and the fashion show was lovely to see too.”
It gave us a great chance to celebrate the town’s amazing businesses.”
Quiz, Specsavers and St Andrew’s Hospice were just some of the local organisations who volunteered staff on the catwalk during the day.
Local climbing centre Hang-On Climbing also proved popular with locals on Saturday as kids queued up for a go on their facilities.
Ya Dancer silent discos also helped with the musical entertainment, meanwhile the catwalk was performed to the backdrop of a local DJ who kept crowds buzzing with his tracks.
Also on display was fairground rides, arts and crafts workshops, face-painting and lots more.
And it all returns again this weekend when the final Summer Gala event takes place in Hamilton town centre from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, August 13.
Planned to go ahead right at back-to-school peak Saturday, this event brings back the hugely popular Easter Gala format, bursting with entertainment, community performers, participatory art and much more.
