Hamilton Accies are in the process of negotiating an exit package for head coach Stuart Taylor.
Lanarkshire Live Sport revealed on Monday that Taylor was set to part company with the club off the back a sixth-place finish in the Scottish Championship last season.
And it is understood the 47-year-old's departure could be confirmed in the next 24 hours with meetings taking place today.
Earlier this month, Taylor told Lanarkshire Live Sport about the plans he had in place for next season and how he was looking forward to that opportunity, however, things appear to have taken a turn as the club start budgeting for next season.
Reflecting on this season, Taylor told us last week: “It’s been a challenging season but it’s been good to go and get my teeth into things. It’s been good to set down some foundations.
“It’s all about what you do on the pitch but that happens because of what you do off it.
“Structures, strategies, all that stuff we have set in place. We now look to tweak them and how do we make them better for next season.
“Now it’s a case of a constant review. We have been doing that and reviewing the season going into the next one, and what we need to do better.”
While Taylor is heading for the exit, uncertainty surrounds the future of his assistant John Rankin, who joined the club from Hearts in December.
Accies are desperate to return to Scotland’s top flight having been relegated from the Premiership at the end of last season.
The club will groundshare with League One Clyde next season in a big boost to the New Douglas Park coffers as they prepare for a second season outside of the top flight.
