Hamilton Accies boss John Rankin says his side must make more of being in a winning position after they were held to a 2-2 draw at Cove Rangers on Saturday.
Accies twice led in the Championship clash at the Balmoral Stadium, with Jean-Pierre Tiehi's first goal for the club levelled by Jamie Masson in 56 minutes.
While Dan O'Reilly restored their lead within three minutes, they were again legged back late on as Leighton McIntosh scored for last season's League One champions with six minutes left.
Rankin was pleased with the number of chances his side created, but again pointed to lack of a cutting edge up front, which has cost Accies several times already this season.
He said: "We're taking the lead in games, so we know we're creating chances, we're a danger, we've got players who can threaten opponents, so that's hugely pleasing.
"The chances we created yesterday were really good.
"We're questioning one just before half-time where it's a stramash in the box and it comes off the post. When we look at it, one of their defenders has actually got a toe to it just as we go to poke it in, so can we we get there a wee bit quicker, can we be on the front-foot slightly earlier than what we were?
"But we must stop them at the other end, whether it be not conceding free kicks, or not dropping the runner or putting our head in front of something, where we might get hurt or take a cut, but we go and win the game
"The disappointing thing for me is the goals that we're conceding. It's not so much the goals we're scoring, because we are creating chances, but when we go in front it's going to get the next goal.
"We seem to be sitting deep and not coming out, now why that is I don't know - I'm not on the pitch - but that becomes hugely frustrating, because we need to get players to take responsibility and make sure we squeeze the game and try to play in their half.
"Once Cove scored yesterday we were back on the front-foot and trying to get the second goal, and then as soon as we got the second goal it seemed to be the recurring theme where we end up on the back foot and allow them to dictate.
"That can be a plus, like we saw against Arbroath last week when we had holes to go and pick off, we did, but then never took our chances.
"But this week it seemed to be that we couldn't get out. It's hugely disappointing and we feel that we have to keep possession better later on in the game to try and get us up the pitch and create those chances, because we are dangerous when we get them."
Rankin says Hamilton must do better to hold onto leads, particularly when they're away from home.
Yesterday's clash at the Balmoral Stadium was remarkably similar to their trip to Ayr United on August 13, when goals by Andy Winter and O'Reilly were cancelled out.
He said: "Going away from home and scoring two goals, you expect to come away with three points.
"We knew the importance of set plays, as part of the game-plan, but the first goal we conceded from the throw-in because we weren't organised quickly enough.
"At the second goal it was from a free kick and we could have been organised slightly quicker and the goal comes from that, so that's disappointing.
"We scored two goals from our own set plays and that was pleasing, but overall I'm really disappointed to be in a winning position and not see the game out.
"We had numerous shots at goal yesterday, almost double figures for an away game, and that's great, but at the end of the day if we don't take our chances all it takes is one mistake at the other end and the other team's still in the game.
"We need to take our chances when they come along, because at some point they'll run out, and if we don't take them and make them count, ultimately you don't come away with the three points."
