Hamas' recent threat to delay the next planned release of Israeli hostages from the Gaza Strip has sent shockwaves through the fragile ceasefire that has been seen as a potential step towards winding down the war.
The delay has caused distress among Israelis who witnessed the latest handover of hostages with growing horror, as three emaciated men were released over the weekend. Of the 17 hostages yet to be released from Gaza, Israel has confirmed that eight are deceased.
