Hamas has issued a statement expressing condolences and solidarity with Hezbollah following the death of its leader, Hassan Nasrallah, and several senior officials from the group. The militant group strongly condemned Nasrallah's assassination as a cowardly act of aggression, denouncing the Israeli airstrike that resulted in his death and that of his associates as a heinous crime. Hamas praised Nasrallah for his longstanding support for the Palestinian cause.

It is important to note that Israel and Hezbollah have been engaged in conflict for decades, with tensions escalating following Hamas' attacks on Israel on October 7 and the subsequent Israeli military offensive in Gaza. Hezbollah has indicated that recent clashes with Israel are in solidarity with Hamas and the Palestinians affected by Israeli bombardment. Both Hezbollah and Hamas are part of a broader Iran-led alliance of militant groups that includes factions in Yemen, Syria, Gaza, and Iraq.

Islamic Jihad in Palestine (PIJ) echoed Hamas' sentiments, mourning the loss of what they described as a giant Arab and Islamic figure who paved the path of victory for the nation. PIJ stated that Nasrallah's death would further strengthen the resistance in Lebanon, Palestine, and the wider region, highlighting his sacrifices and drawing parallels to former Hezbollah leader Abbas Musawi.

In a separate development, influential Iraqi cleric Muqtada Al-Sadr announced three days of mourning in Iraq, referring to Nasrallah as a companion in the path of resistance and defiance. Al-Sadr's statement on Saturday underscored the impact of Nasrallah's legacy on the broader regional dynamics.
