Despite spotting a possible cancer symptom, half of adults in the UK won't contact their GP within six months, research has found.
Just 48 percent of people with a red flag cancer symptom - including signs like coughing up blood, unexplained weight loss, and a new or unusual lump - reached out to their GP within half a year. The YouGov poll for Cancer Research UK included 2,468 people.
Not telling a doctor about unusual health changes or possible signs of cancer reduces the chances of an early cancer diagnosis, leading to potentially devastating outcomes.
