Number of people with dementia diagnosis hits record high

NHS Dementia NHS England Alzheimer Society Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust

A record half a million people have now received a dementia diagnosis on the NHS, new figures confirm.

Data published this week by NHS England reveals 506,549 people have been formally diagnosed, a significant rise from 490,163 at this time in 2024.
