Haley Cavinder has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, paving the way for her return to college basketball, according to a report by On3.
Cavinder, who played at the University of Miami last year and Fresno State for three years prior, will be making her return during the 2024-25 season, and not this upcoming year as the season begins in November, her agent Jeff Hoffman told On3.
While her entry in the portal does not ensure her spot on a roster, Hoffman said she is "100% making her return to college basketball."
Cavinder averaged 12.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.5 assists for the Hurricanes last season while starting in all 35 games. She helped the Hurricanes advance to the school's first Elite 8 in the history of the NCAA women's basketball tournament.

The announcement from Cavinder comes just six months after she and her twin sister, Hanna, announced that they would be retiring from basketball and moving towards becoming businesswomen.
Other than their talent on the court, the Cavinder Twins established themselves as social media personalities. Their shared TikTok account has over 4 million followers while their shared Instagram has over 307,000 followers. Each of their individual Instagram accounts have over 727,000 followers.
The two parlayed their fame into becoming some of the highest-valued college athletes in NIL space. Each were valued at nearly $1 million per year by On3 before announcing their retirement from basketball. That number would put her right below LSU's Angel Reese and Flau'jae Johnson on the list of highest-valued women's college basketball players.
The Twins looked poised to join the WWE after Hoffman told TheStreet that they would begin training in July. They made appearances in the summer on the wrestling promotion and teased their potential debut, but that debut has not happened.
There is also no word yet as to whether Hanna will follow her sister to return back to the court. Hanna's stats dipped significantly after moving from Fresno State to Miami, averaging just 3.8 points and 1.6 assists in 16.6 minutes per game last season.
The Cavinder Twins' camp did not respond in time for this story.
This is a developing story.
