Antalyaspor fans have been warned that their fury towards frontman Haji Wright amid swirling Rangers transfer talk could "easily" see him leave the club.
Michael Beale is in the midst of his rebuild and he will be desperate to boost his firepower for the new Scottish Premiership season with the likes of Alfredo Morelos heading out of the door. Speculation in the Turkish media over a potential £7m bid for American international Wright from Ibrox has seen fans turn on the during a dip in form for the 25-year-old since the claims emerged.
During the goalless draw with Istanbul Basakeshir, Wright was replaced after 81 minutes and loud whistle and boos could be heard around the Antalya Stadium as the attacker walked off the pitch. He was met with an angry response from the crowd after failing to score against Fenerbahce on Tuesday - with his goalless streak stretching to five games.
Irked boss Nuri Sahin has warned fans that they need to cool their anger towards the attacker - insisting that it "will happen again" post match. He said: "It's obvious what the has done for us. He could be transferred to other teams very easily. Loyalty, humanity is very important from our fans.”
Wright has netted 14 goal so far this season despite Antalyaspor facing relegation. Rangers boss Beale has focussed on the British market so far this summer, with Jack Butland likely to follow Kieran Dowell and Dujon Sterling in the door at Edmiston Drive.
