Hairy Bikers' star Dave Myers left fans shocked after looking unrecognisable during a recent podcast in which the updated them on his ongoing cancer treatment. The telly favourite recently appeared on he and showbiz sidekick Si King's YouTube channel to discuss health matters and how he's coping with his gruelling chemotherapy regime.

During the episode the celebrity chef revealed his bald and beardless new look but admitted, "Under the circumstances, I’m doing alright." Looking gaunt, the 62-year-old was deluged with well-wishes from viewers as he admitted how the loss of his trademark facial hair had hit him the hardest.

"I just miss having my beard, the feeling of it, because your skin's different and all peachy," he told King, 55. He added that he was "alright" with the rest of his hair falling out though. because a "bald head and beard is the way to go for a biker who's getting on."

Myers first spoke of his cancer diagnosis in May on an episode of the pair's Agony Uncles podcast. He said that he didn't want to "hide under a rock" but added that he would be "writing off" the rest of the year in terms of TV work.

He has yet to specify what type of cancer he's suffering with and has asked fans to respect his privacy while he undergoes treatment.

This latest update comes after Myers' onscreen partner King spoke about his pal's condition during a cookery demonstration at the recent Bolton Food and Drink Festival. "He's doing canny but as you appreciate he's right in the trenches of it all at the minute - but he's getting there," he said.
