The staff at a North East chippy were delighted when one half of the Hairy Bikers came to visit over the weekend.
The Harbour View at Seaton Sluice in south Northumberland is gearing up for one of its busiest days of the year, with entertainment already booked for the gargantuan queues expected on Good Friday. And ahead of that, they welcomed one of the North East's best known TV chefs, who has become a somewhat regular visitor.
Owner and manager Waseem Mir says that his staff have welcomed Si King on a few occasions in recent months, though they hadn't asked him for a picture until his most recent visit. And despite having more than 20 recipe books with his on-screen co-presenter Dave Myers, sometimes nothing beats eating out - with him often ordering haddock and chips according to Waseem.

Waseem told ChronicleLive: "He's in probably once a month, he comes in fairly often but it's the first time we've asked for a photograph. Normally when people come in they want to sit and eat their food so we tend not to bother them.
"But he's become very, very friendly recently so we thought we'd ask him and see what he says. He's lovely, honestly, so down to earth, proper canny.
"He says he's tried fish and chips and all the old shops and all the new ones and he keeps coming back to us."
