Hairy Biker Dave Myers has shared the emotional moment he got back on his bike alongside Si King for the first time following his cancer diagnosis.
Fans of the TV duo rallied around Dave after he announced in May last year that he had been undergoing chemotherapy, and the star has since often spoken candidly about his ongoing cancer battle. Viewers were delighted when it was announced that the Hairy Bikers will be back on the road for a new series, following Dave's extended break from filming to receive treatment.
The 65-year-old was also able to get back on his bike for the first time, which proved to be a moving day for both him and Si. Dave told the Yorkshire Post: "I've had to learn to walk again and ride my bike again. And to get on my bike again with Kingy in the sunshine brought tears to both our eyes."

Last month, the pair took to Instagram to share that they were back on the road to film their new show The Hairy Bikers Go West. Announced back in May, a teaser for the eight-part BBC series read: "Starting in Scotland and riding all the way to Devon, this is the perfect trip for the Bikers to revisit places that are meaningful to their past, special locations where their friendship was forged, and locations linked to their family history.
"But it won’t all be familiar territory as they meet new friends and explore new scenery to cook mouth-watering recipes inspired by the diversity of the West coast. Along the way, they'll meet some of the best artisan food producers in the UK alongside award winning chefs and an incredible array of locals keen to share their passion for local produce."
The upcoming series set to air on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer will see Si and Dave start off their journey on Bute Island, before travelling through Dumfries and Galloway, Lancashire, Merseyside and the Isle of Man, North Wales, The Severn Estuary and Somerset, finally ending their journey in Devon. Described as "a celebration of enduring friendship, foodies' passion and the people of this part of the world", news that the much-loved pair will be returning to our screens was met with delight from fans.
