Hairdresser shares trick to tell if short hair would look good on you

A hairdresser has shared a simple trick that will tell you if short hair would look good on you - so you don't have to find out the hard way.

TikTok star Amy Chang has amassed over 1.3 million followers on social media by sharing regular beauty tips and describes herself as "skin and hair obsessed".

Recently she took to the video-sharing platform with an essential tip for anyone thinking of lopping off their locks, as there is a simple way to test if it will suit you.

All you'll need to perform the test on yourself is two pencils and a tape measure, and then you'll know if cutting it off is the right choice.

What do you think to Amy's tip? Let us know in the comments...

Amy, who uploads as @Bondenavant, said: "This is an easy way to know if short hair will look good on you.

"All you need is two pencils and a measuring tape. Put the pencil underneath your chin.

"You place the second one at the base of your ear - the angle/length of your jaw is everything.

"If the distance is greater than 2 1/4in (5.17cm), then longer hair will look good on you. If it's shorter than 2 1/4in, then shorter hair will look good on you."
