Hair stylist shares Kate Middleton's 'genius' trick for perfect updos all day long

One of Kate Middleton's genius style hacks has been revealed by a hair stylist, and fans of the Princess of Wales will be delighted to know it is easy to replicate. Of course, as a royal, Kate enjoys access to top hairdressers to keep her hair looking beautiful at all times. But when she is out and about, attending royal engagements, she turns to a simple accessory to keep her tresses in place.

When explaining why Kate's updos always look so flawless, expert @bekah_and_co revealed it is often thanks to a humble hair net. While fans might be surprised to know the Princess uses such a straightforward trick, it turns out the secret to her luscious locks has been hiding in plain sight.

As the hair stylist highlights in a TikTok video devoted to Kate's updos, the Princess has been pictured sporting a fine net in her hair several times.

Although you may have to look closely, if you know what to look for, you can see a net features in several of her most stylish updos over the years. And it makes sense, given she has to battle the ever-changing British weather.

In the video, the expert confirms: "It is safe to say that she definitely utilises hairnets in her updos, especially in her low buns." "And listen, I'm not mad about it. I think it is genius," she adds.

The stylist further explains: "Even though she is practically perfect in every way, using a hair net will help maintain those sleek, smooth styles all day long. Wind, rain, shine, whatever, it will stay in place. She doesn't always use it, but I would say the majority of the time when she wears those low buns, she is definitely wearing a hair net."

And viewers were delighted by the tip, with many saying they had never noticed her use of the subtle accessory. One person wrote: "Hair nets are so convenient let’s bring them back."

A second said: "I do it from time to time it works so good." And other commenters pointed out the tip works great for people who don't wish to use lots of hair product or multiple bobby pins, but still want to maintain a sleek style.
