Footage from the jockey cam of Aidan Coleman brilliantly emphasised the demands of race riding at the Cheltenham Festival.
Coleman, 33, wore a camera for his mount on the Henry de Bromhead-trained Ballyadam in the County Hurdle on Friday.
The 50/1 shot belied his odds to finish in fifth place in the 26-runner contest. But when viewing the race from Coleman's perspective it is fascinating to witness the split-second decisions that jockeys have to make.
Rounding the bend at the Cotswolds track, Coleman had a lot of ground to make up on the leaders and needed luck in running.
At two moments he shouts at fellow jockey Jack Kennedy, riding Felix Desjy, to "stay in" as Coleman ranged up on his outside.
But in between the last two flights of hurdles, with both jockeys not wanting to give an inch, the two horses brushed against each other, illustrating the fine margins of the game and its ever-present risks.
Ballyadam ran an eye-catching race in running on to finish fifth in a contest that was won by the gambled-on Willie Mullins favourite State Man.
One twitter user commented on the video: "This is superb footage. Goes to show the hustle and bustle of a big field race at a track like Cheltenham where everybody just wants a winner.
"Also great insight as to how jockeys have to navigate their horses through the traffic and challenges of a race."
Corkman Coleman was out of luck at the Cheltenham Festival, but he came close to the winner's enclosure a number of times.
His mount Jonbon found only Constitution Hill too good in the Supreme Novices Hurdle, Epatante finished second to Honeysuckle in the Champion Hurdle, and Paisley Park was a gallant third in the Stayers' Hurdle.
