There's a new patch out for Hades 2, bringing a long, long list of minor tweaks and changes. But what's more immediately exciting for any lorehounds are the proper ending scenes that have been added to all the prophecies, bringing a little more depth to the roguelike.
The arrival of Hades 2 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S has brought a sizable update to the mythological sequel from Supergiant Games. At the top of the list of features are a few additional avenues of characterization, allowing you to get to know the cast that much better.
"Narrated conclusion scenes," are now included for every prophecy, and you can find them on the Fated List, provided you've already beaten the questline. If you're so inclined, characters Melinoë can be romantically involved in may show interest in maintaining that connection, which is always nice.
Speaking of such things, "most" characters at the crossroads can be given Bath Salts, Twin Lures, or Ambrosia, opening short - but no doubt sweet - new scenes for them. Which ones will probably require you to just try everybody, creating a minor sidequest all its own.
While the team were putting together these little narrative touch-ups, they decided to add new dialogue, new forms for all the animal familiars, and more besides. After this, the substantive changelist includes the usual kind of bug fixes and mechanical alterations you'd expect, though one did catch my eye.
A "rare case" where you don't meet a certain major character when doing the True Ending. Whomever encountered that, I am sorry, that's just frustrating and must've been a bit of a buzzkill. Thankfully, it's now all been sorted, and we can get back to what matters: killing Chronos.
