Haddad Maia too strong for Tomljanovic in Seoul

Brazilian star Beatriz Haddad Maia has proved too powerful for Anna Tomljanovic, beating the Australian 6-3 6-4 to advance to the WTA quarter-finals in Seoul.

Haddad Maia broke Tomljanovic's serve three times on her way to the last eight of the Korea Open, where she will meet Polina Kudermetova.

Tomljanovic had been involved in a three-hour struggle against South Korean wildcard Su Jeong Jang in the previous round, eventually winning 7-6 (7-4) 4-6 6-3.
