H&M is certainly no stranger to collaborations. The fast-fashion giant has a history of teaming up with big-name fashion houses (Rabanne, Simone Rocha, Mugler) to give people a more affordable way to rock designer labels. H&M's latest collab is with Indian designer Anamika Khanna offering a vibrant way to welcome fall.
Anamika Khanna H&M shines a spotlight on the designer's eclectic style. Khanna wants to introduce the sartorial codes of India to the masses by taking traditional silhouettes and giving them a contemporary spin. There are pieces for the whole family along with jewelry and accessories.
"I've always felt Indian fashion gets lost when interpreted by the rest of the world," explains Khanna. "Often, our fashion — in terms of the culture, the heritage of craft and textile embroideries — is regarded as costume or not wearable or modern enough. Things have changed a lot, and this collection with H&M allows me to take something Indian and make it global and contemporary."
Make sure to mark your calendar because the full Anamika Khanna H&M line drops September 5 in select stores and online.
