A man regrets breaking up with his girlfriend after family landed a £61million EuroMillions win.
Daniel White's friends ridiculed him after discovering his former partner's family had shared out the lottery winnings among themselves.
The rugby player broke up with his childhood sweetheart Courtney Davies just months before the big win.
The pair dated for two years at Monmouth Comprehensive School, in Wales, before the romance fizzled out.
The 27-year-old said: “It was a school and teenage romance which just tailed off.
"We had different interests and different friends.”
But little did he know that his lack of fight to stay together would be a valuable mistake after her sister Stephanie purchased a lucky dip ticket from her local garage back in 2016.
The generous winners agreed to share out the fortune with friends and family.
Daniel previously said: “All my mates are savaging me - the first I knew of their win was my phone going nuts.
“The boys were all sending me links and jokey Snapchats asking if I was gutted. One said ‘how much have you cried since you found out mate?’
“I just put my head in my hands. I'm happy for them - but obviously I feel like it could have been me.”
Stephanie bought six lucky dips with 40 minutes to spare before lottery terminals closed after her mum told her: “We’re on a winning streak.”
She discovered her mum’s gut instinct was right when she checked the ticket -scooping £61,102,442.90.
Stephanie checked the results in the early hours on her iPad- and realised she matched all the numbers.
