NEW DELHI: Aryna Sabalenka kept her hopes of a historic Australian Open hat-trick alive on Tuesday as she battled past Russia's 27th seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 in a gripping quarter-final in Melbourne.
The world number one, who has now extended her winning streak at Melbourne Park to 19 matches, will face Spain's Paula Badosa in the semi-finals. Badosa, the 11th seed, stunned world number three Coco Gauff in straight sets earlier in the day to reach her first Grand Slam semi-final.
