Gustavo Scarpa has sent a message to the Nottingham Forest fans after making his first appearance for the club since signing.
The Brazilian attacker was handed his debut by Steve Cooper when he threw him on in place of Morgan Gibbs-White in the 71st minute of the game against Southampton on Wednesday night. By that stage the Reds were already in the lead through Taiwo Awoniyi's first-half strike.
Forest held on until the final whistle to seal all three points and ensure that Scarpa came away with a win in his first competitive game at the club. The result lifts the team out of the bottom three while Southampton remain rooted to the foot of the Premier League table.

The good vibes continued after the match as Scarpa took to the club's official Twitter account to speak directly to the supporters, alongside full-back Renan Lodi. "Hello Forest fans, thank you all for the support," he said.
"Me and Renan here just want to say thank you. A good victory away. Yeah, it's us!"
The 29-year-old joined Forest on a free transfer from Brazilian outfit Palmeiras, where he won the Copa Libertadores on two occasions. The long-awaited deal was announced in December, but he was not able to play until this month when the contract he had with his previous club expired.
