GURUGRAM: The city reported 302 new Covid cases on Monday. It recorded 400 cases for the last three days. The positivity rate has now dropped to 7.5% from 9.7% on Sunday.
Gurugram has 1,528 active cases at present. Of these, 28 Covid patients are hospitalised and the rest are in home isolation. The health department conducted 4,002 tests on Monday, while 4,177 tests were carried out the day before.
Health officials said cases are likely to rise further due to the festive season and appealed to people to wear face masks at all times when venturing outside.
“We are monitoring all cases of hospitalisation. As of now, young people are not getting hospitalised. All eligible recipients should take the booster dose to minimise the severity of the infection. As the festive season is going on, we will see more cases in the coming days,” said Dr Virender Yadav, the chief medical officer.
Doctors pointed out that people with comorbidities are getting more sick, similar to previous waves. Dr Rajesh Kumar, senior consultant (internal medicine) at Paras Hospitals, said: “The number of cases has started to rise again. Most new patients have diarrhoea, stomach cramps, abdomen pain, nausea, vomiting, high fever, throat pain and cough. Symptoms usually last for two to three days, but if symptoms persist for longer, one should contact a physician.”
