Gurugram: Inadequate charging infrastructure, concerns around technological obsolescence, high cost of electric vehicle (EV) ownership compared to conventional vehicles and supply chain restraints are among several factors impeding the pace of EV adoption in India, according to a white paper released by industry leaders and domain experts in Gurugram on Friday.
The document unveiled during EVConIndia 2022 highlighted six key issues — affordability, range anxiety, supply chain, product safety and quality, and inadequate access to financing. It also pointed out that India needs to set up at least 46,000 EV charging stations by 2030 to reach the global benchmark.
