Cops have launched an investigation after a series of 'reckless and dangerous' incidents in North Ayrshire which included 'gunshots' being heard in Saltcoats over the weekend.
Police were first alerted to a 'disturbance' on Eglinton Road in Ardrossan at around 1am on Friday, August 12. Emergency services, including cops and the Scottish Ambulance Service, sped to the scene.
Upon arrival, a vehicle was found to have been damaged and a 20-year-old man was taken to Crosshouse Hospital to be treated for a head injury in what officers believe was a targeted attack.
