GUNS N’ Roses have cancelled their concert in Glasgow Green that was set for Tuesday.
The American rock band scrapped their gig, which was set to be the band’s biggest ever show in Scotland, citing “medical advice” and “illness”. It comes after Red Hot Chilli Peppers cancelled their Bellahouston gig last week, also due to illness.
Fans were set to see the current line up Axl Rose, Duff McKagan, Slash, Dizzy Reed, Richard Fortus, Frank Ferrer, and Melissa Reese perform as the band undertake the European leg of their world tour.
The run of shows marks the first trip to Europe for the band since their 2016 Not In This Lifetime tour, which is the third highest-grossing tour of all time.
Fans took to Twitter to show support for the band’s frontman, Axl Rose, who said he had been having issues with his voice.
At a show in London, the singer had told fans that he had slept in the venue between shows after feeling ill.
A statement from the band said: "Sadly, due to illness and medical advice, GNR will not be able to perform in Glasgow, tomorrow 5-July-2022. We are working on rescheduling options for this show so please hold onto your tickets and wait for a further update.”
