Guns, drugs found on Bass Strait islands

Police raids on the remote Furneaux Islands in Bass Strait have uncovered cannabis plants. (AAP)

Cannabis plants, drug-related items, illegal guns and a large quantity of ammunition have been uncovered during police raids on a group of remote islands in Bass Strait.

An Australian Federal Police and Tasmania Police operation using helicopters, boats and drones was undertaken last week on the Furneaux Islands.
