VADODARA: A woman died and three others were injured when the wall of a house collapsed on them in the Abhlod village of Garbada taluka in Dahod district. The incident took place in a kutcha house that was being rebuilt.
According to sources, Savita Hihor (45) died when the old wall of the house that was being rebuilt fell on her on Tuesday night. Her husband Mukesh Hihor and three others were injured in the incident.
It is believed that the wall of the weakened house may have collapsed due to the rains in the area. Savita and others were rushed to the hospital where she succumbed to injuries.
Rain was reported in different parts of Dahod district on Wednesday night. Heavy waterlogging took place in the Fatehpura town in the district. It came to light that water was not being drained out due to encroachments. These encroachments were removed by the administration to ensure that the water receded in the town.
A tree also fell in Fatepura damaging vehicles and handcarts. Two persons were injured in the incident.
