Gujarat: Waqf tribunal members face contempt of court charge

AHMEDABAD: The chairman and two members of the Gujarat state waqf tribunal, including a judge, are facing contempt of court proceedings for passing an order despite the high court's stay order. The Gujarat high court will frame the charges on July 7.

The bench of Chief Justice Aravind Kumar and Justice Ashutosh Shastri declined the state government's request to drop contempt proceedings against tribunal's chairman A I Shaikh and members M J Pandya and R N Qadri.
