MUMBAI: Gujarat Giants on Friday announced that they have roped in Australian women's cricket great Rachael Haynes as their head coach for the upcoming inaugural season of the Women’s Premier League. Haynes' appointment comes just days after the Adani Sportsline-owned team had named the legendary Mithali Raj as their mentor and advisor.
While Haynes will be the Ahmedabad franchise’s head coach, the team’s bowling coach is former Indian off-spinner Nooshin Al Khadeer, who is currently the coach of India U-19 Women’s team which recently clinched the inaugural ICC T20 World Cup trophy in South Africa. Former India women's team coach Tushar Arothe, under whom the team reached the final of the 2017 ICC World Cup in England will be their batting coach and Gavan Twining is the team’s fielding coach.
