Guide to Finalissima and England opponents Brazil as Lionesses set for Wembley sell-out

European Champions England could claim their fourth trophy of Sarina Wiegman's reign this week.

The Lionesses will look to add more silverware to the cabinet, which also contains two Arnold Clark Cups, when they face Brazil in the Finalissima at Wembley Stadium. The game is a complete sell-out, for only the second time England have returned to the national stadium since that memorable 2-1 win over Germany.

The hosts will be looking to dispatch another FIFA ranked top-10 opponent as they continue to build towards the World Cup finals in Australia and New Zealand this summer. The Lionesses also face Australia over the next week, with the two meeting at Brentford on Tuesday evening.

But before then Brazil stand in their way, with Sarina Wiegman looking to maintain her unbeaten run as England boss.

Here is everything you need to know about Thursday's Finalissima.

What is the Women's Finalissima?

England's meeting with Brazil will be the first ever women's Finalissima. The match pits the champions of Europe against the champions of South America. It follows a similar concept in the men's game that saw Argentina defeat Italy at Wembley last year.

The games form part of an expanded strategy between CONMEBOL and UEFA. There was also a futsal Finalissima that saw Portugal beat Spain, with the trophy set to be part of the football calendar for years to come.

England qualify as European champions, after winning the tournament on home soil last year for a maiden major trophy. Brazil won the Copa America Femenina last July, with a 1-0 win over hosts Colombia in the final thanks to a goal from Debinha, claiming their eighth title.

French referee Stephanie Frappart will take charger of the contest, which kicks-off at 7.45pm. The game is a complete sell-out. England are one game short of making it 30 games unbeaten.

How can I watch Finalissima?

IF you can't make it to Wembley, ITV will have full coverage of the Wembley clash. Their pre-match build-up will begin at 7pm on ITV4 before switching to ITV1 at 7:30pm.

Brazil's international record

The Selecao are the most successful side in South American women's football history, winning eight Copa America titles. Although they have never won the World Cup, Brazil have gone close twice. In 1999 they won bronze after finishing third, before reaching the final in China in 2007, only to lose to Germany 2-0.

They are yet to win a global title, but did win silver at both the 2004 and 2008 Olympic Games. They have appeared at every Women's World Cup finals to date and will do so again in the summer. They are drawn in Group F with France, Jamaica and Panama.

Who to watch out for from Brazil

Although Brazil will be one of the toughest opponents England have faced since winning the Euros, manager Pia Sundhage is missing a couple of big names. Legendary Marta, one of the greatest players of all-time, and Debinha who have scored 173 international goals between them will both miss out with injury.

Marta only recently returned from injury after 11 months out, but has suffered a thigh muscle problem. This could give Barcelona's Geyse another chance, after she impressed at the SheBelieves Cup. Bia Zaneratto will also be a danger to the Lionesses backline, the forward - who has been to three World Cup finals - has 102 caps and is still in her twenties, with 34 goals at international level.

The injuries may mean they can't play their first-choice attack but Brazil's defence is perhaps their strongest asset. In six matches at the Copa America last year they didn't concede a goal.
