It turns out Guerrilla Games is making a Horizon Zero Dawn multiplayer game after all. The Horizon and Killing Floor maker announced the unnamed game in a job post on Twitter, shortly after rumors started swirling about a Horizon Zero Dawn MMO. Whether this is the same project is another matter, though.
An internal team is building the new online game set in the Horizon universe, which Guerrilla says will feature a new cast of characters not yet seen in Aloy’s adventures.
The earlier rumors grew from news about a potential partnership with Guild Wars 2 maker NCSoft, who is reportedly working with Guerrilla to develop an MMO and will lead development on that project, which may or may not include cut co-op components from Zero Dawn.

Guerrilla’s Twitter post mentions the studio is hiring for external teams, which would presumably include any team working with NCSoft, and their Horizon single-player team, so it’s tough to guess who might be doing what.
The only thing for sure at this point is that a Horizon multiplayer game of some kind is in the works, and there’s much more Horizon on the way, even after Call of the Mountain launches for PS VR 2 – possibly even a PS5 remake of the original game.
