GTA 6 price finally revealed as Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders open today; Rockstar details Ultimate Edition and launch bonuses

Rockstar Games has officially revealed the pricing and launch editions of Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) ahead of the game's pre-order rollout on June 25. The highly anticipated title will launch on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with pre-orders opening at midnight local time worldwide.

The company confirmed that GTA 6's Standard Edition will cost $79.99, making it one of the most expensive major video game releases to date. Rockstar has also unveiled an Ultimate Edition priced at $99.99, offering additional in-game content and bonuses for players seeking an expanded experience.

GTA 6 launch editions and pricing

According to Rockstar Games, GTA 6 will be available in two confirmed editions at launch:

  • Standard Edition: $79.99
  • Ultimate Edition: $99.99

The Ultimate Edition includes an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel and other content integrated throughout the story of protagonists Jason and Lucia.

Rockstar also reiterated that GTA 6 will launch as a single-player experience. The company has not shared any details about a future version of GTA Online or multiplayer plans.

Pre-order bonuses revealed

Players who pre-order GTA 6 or purchase the game before November 20 will receive the Vintage Vice City Pack, a bonus collection of items inspired by the classic neon-soaked era of Vice City.

Rockstar has also confirmed that digital pre-orders will include one free month of GTA+, the company's subscription service.

Those who purchase digital versions of the game will be able to pre-load GTA 6 from November 12, allowing them to begin playing as soon as the game launches on November 19.

Physical copies to include download code

In a move reflecting the industry's increasing shift toward digital distribution, Rockstar said physical copies of GTA 6 will not include a game disc. Instead, buyers will receive a download code inside the box.

The company noted that physical editions will be available from November 12 to support pre-loading ahead of launch day.

Reports hint at additional editions

While Rockstar has officially announced only the Standard and Ultimate editions, an online retailer listing from Media Markt Poland reportedly suggested that GTA 6 could also arrive in Special Edition and Collector's Edition variants.

However, Rockstar has not confirmed either edition, and the retailer information remains unverified.

Performance Mode, Quality Mode rumours

The same retailer listing claimed that GTA 6 may offer both Performance Mode and Quality Mode on current-generation consoles, allowing players to choose between higher frame rates and enhanced graphical fidelity.

The listing also mentioned support for PlayStation 5 DualSense haptic feedback and SSD-powered fast loading times. Rockstar has not confirmed any of these features, and they should be treated as speculation until officially announced.

Trailer 3 speculation grows

With pre-orders set to begin on June 25, online speculation has intensified regarding the possible release of GTA 6 Trailer 3. Several reports and fan discussions suggest Rockstar could unveil a new trailer alongside the pre-order launch.

The company, however, has made no announcement regarding a third trailer.

The pricing announcement ends months of speculation surrounding GTA 6's cost, with some industry analysts previously predicting Rockstar could charge as much as $100 for the base version. Although the Standard Edition falls below that mark, GTA 6 is now among the highest-priced blockbuster game releases in the market.
