Folks, something is actually, finally happening – GTA 6 is getting its first extended look later this month.
As confirmed by Rockstar Games today, Grand Theft Auto 6: An Extended Look will be dropping on Netflix, of all things, on August 27. It'll go live at 3pm ET – that's 12pm PT or 8PM BST – on the streaming service, before it comes to the Rockstar YouTube channel and website six hours later.
How long the video will be or what exactly it'll show remains to be seen, but right now, all that matters is that we're finally going to get a proper look at GTA 6, over a year since Trailer 2.
Many folks assumed that the pre-orders for GTA 6 going live in late June would be a good time for Rockstar to drop Trailer 3, but alas, that day came and went. It was already stated that the game's launch marketing would kick off properly in the summer, so some news was inevitable, but the devs have certainly kept us on our toes as to when.
And hey, if we're being treated with a nice, lengthy look at some long-awaited gameplay footage, then that seems like a very reasonable reward for our patience. It's been repeatedly stated that the game is truly on track for its November 19 release date, and with something like this on the horizon, hopefully even those who felt badly burned by the previous delays will feel somewhat reassured.
GTA 5 dev "can only imagine the size of GTA 6" – "It must be monstrous."
