How to watch the GTA 6 Extended Look

Netflix

Subscribers can watch the presentation first on Aug. 27 at 3pm ET. The presentation is being released through a first-of-its-kind partnership between Netflix and Rockstar Games.

Netflix has confirmed that members will receive early access to the extended look before it becomes available elsewhere. If you plan to watch it on Netflix, all you need to do is:

  • Open the service (app or website) shortly before the scheduled time
  • Search for Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look. It may also appear in the service’s upcoming or newly added sections.

YouTube

On YouTube, the presentation will be available to everyone on the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel from 9pm ET on Aug. 27. Their website will also host the video at the same time. The YouTube release is not expected to contain different footage from the Netflix version. The only difference is the six-hour gap between them.

What to expect from GTA 6 Extended Look

Rockstar has not revealed the full contents of the extended look, but we can expect another look at Jason and Lucia, the two main protagonists. A longer showcase could provide more context about their relationship, their criminal work, and how the game’s story moves between personal drama and large-scale heists.

GTA 6 returns to Vice City, but the game will cover more than the bright streets and nightlife associated with the classic setting. Leonida is expected to include a broad mix of urban areas, coastal locations, highways, rural spaces, and swamps. Rockstar may use the extended look to show how these areas connect and how players can move through the world. New footage could also highlight the density of crowds, traffic, wildlife, weather, and other details that make the map feel more active than previous Grand Theft Auto games.

Fans could see additional details about driving and vehicle handling, combat and weapon systems, stealth or police evasion, character switching between Jason and Lucia, heists and criminal activities, shops, restaurants, clubs, and other interiors. There could also be some random events across Leonida, along with social media and other features.

At the time of writing, multiple leaks are already out. They reveal in-depth gameplay and NPC behavior, including Jason driving around Vice City, playing basketball outside his house, and fighting NPCs (police, security guards, and random drivers). So, we can expect Rockstar to delve more into those with the extended look.

Is this GTA 6 Trailer 3?

Not officially. That’s because an extended look could include a new trailer, developer commentary, short gameplay demos, behind-the-scenes footage, and explanations of the game’s characters and world. Rockstar has yet to confirm the runtime, format, or exact content.
