One of the more unusual features is the "GTA 6" criminal profile system. It appears to take some inspiration from the honor mechanics used in the "Red Dead Redemption" series.
'GTA 6' Criminal Profile Has Four Known Levels
YouTuber TGG recently received a behind-the-scenes preview of Rockstar Games' upcoming title. The preview reportedly revealed several details about how player behavior could work in "GTA 6."
According to TGG, the criminal profile has four known stages. They are Professional, Aggressive, Violent, and Psycho.
Professional appears to be the more controlled end of the system. Psycho sits at the opposite extreme.
The stages reportedly show how players approach crime and violence throughout the game. However, Rockstar may have designed the system to go even further.
TGG reportedly learned about another unnamed state beyond the four known levels. This state can apparently begin to crack if players repeatedly disregard the criminal profile system.
Eventually, it can reportedly shatter completely.
Once that happens, the game may stop tracking the player's behavior through the criminal profile. Rockstar reportedly described reaching this point as extremely difficult.
It appears to be aimed at players who completely abandon the idea of managing their criminal behavior.
Players Can Turn Off Criminal Profile Notifications
Despite the system, "GTA 6" reportedly will not force players to constantly think about their criminal profile. Players who simply want to cause chaos can apparently play without regularly checking their status.
Notifications connected to the system can also reportedly be disabled.
According to IGN, the mechanic seems to focus less on the number of people a player kills. Instead, it may consider how and why a crime is committed.
For example, killing someone who attacks during a robbery may not necessarily damage the player's profile.
The situation could be different when a player kills a defenseless store employee or escalates an encounter without a clear reason.
Jason and Lucia Could Have Separate Criminal Profiles
Another reported detail involves GTA 6's two main characters, Jason and Lucia. According to TGG, each character has their own criminal profile.
That could allow players to approach the two protagonists differently. Jason could become more aggressive, while Lucia could maintain a more controlled criminal style.
It is currently unclear whether these profiles will affect the main story.
There is also no confirmation that the system will determine major story outcomes or endings.
Rockstar has yet to explain exactly how deeply the criminal profile mechanic will be connected to the narrative.
'GTA 6' May Also Track Jason and Lucia's Relationship
The criminal profile is reportedly not the only system tracking player choices.
"GTA 6" may also feature a relationship meter between Jason and Lucia.
Player actions could influence how close the two characters become during the story. The system could enhance partnership as they navigate the criminal world together.
The relationship mechanic has already become a source of jokes and discussion among fans. Some of the reactions have even focused on how players' choices could look from the perspective of their real-life partners.
