Groveland, Florida, issued a precautionary boil water advisory on Friday, Sept. 25, after a software error shut down pumps at the city's Sunshine Water Plant for about 30 minutes. It is the second advisory in 10 days for the same part of the Lake County city, ClickOrlando reported.
The city estimates that between 2,500 and 3,000 residents were affected, mainly in neighborhoods along Wilson Lake Parkway and Cherry Lake Road, WFTV reported. City officials said they do not believe any contamination occurred, but state rules require the advisory to stay in place until water samples are tested. Officials said the advisory would not be lifted before Sunday, Sept. 27, when lab results were expected.
