Labour has been accused of “betraying” leaseholders after announcing a £250 cap on ground rents despite pushing for the payments to be reduced to a “peppercorn” in opposition.
On Tuesday, the Government said ground rents would be capped in what ministers described as a crackdown on “scams” ripping off leaseholders.
