Beloved Aussie festival Groovin’ The Moo has announced its return for a one-off outing later this year, following two years of cancellations due longevity and ticket sales concerns.
The festival — which typically tours regional areas across Australia — announced the news earlier today, confirming it will host a single event in Lismore in NSW on May 9, 2026.

The full-day, single-stage event was described by organisers as “the first step of a long-term sustainable model” for Groovin The Moo to establish itself mo(o)ving forward.
“Starting with a single stage and single day show allows the festival to rebuild with care, while staying true to its regional foundations,” organisers said in a press statement.
Tickets to the festival, as well as its full lineup, will be unveiled soon, in what’s been billed as a “celebration of everything that makes GTM special”.

It comes over a year after Groovin The Moo announced the cancellation of its 2025 edition to “work on finding the most sustainable model” to continue operations.
Before that, it also axed its 2024 edition — which boasted Alison Wonderland, DMA’S and The Kooks on its lineup — due to insufficient ticket sales.
Groovin The Moo also paused operations in 2020 and 2021 amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Celebrating its 2026 revival in a press statement, Fuzzy CEO Adelle Robinson said the long-awaited return is “about bringing Groovin The Moo back in a way that honours what it has always stood for”.

Groovin The Moo was one of multiple Aussie festivals to be cancelled throughout 2024 and 2025, with Splendour in the Grass, Falls Festival and Bluesfest each axing their annual editions during that time for reasons ranging from ticket sales to the economic fallout of the pandemic.
The NSW Government later offered a cash-boost lifeline to some of those festivals in early-2025.
Groovin The Moo typically tours in regional areas, with previous stops including Bendigo, Maitland, and Townsville, among others. Over the years, it has featured headliners like Billie Eilish, Gang of Youths, Fatboy Slim and Denzel Curry.
