An overturned road gritter led to traffic being restricted on the A9 this afternoon.
Cops were alerted to the incident at Inveralmond Roundabout in Perth at around 12:40pm and found the gritter lying on its side upon arrival. The driver was rushed to hospital but his condition remains unknown.
Pictures from the scene show the vehicle on its side with the contents of its load covering the ground next to it.
Road workers from Bear Scotland and Amey were at the scene helping to manage traffic after the incident.
It is understood that the remaining grit was removed from the lorry before it could be lifted.
A crane is now believed to be on site at the roundabout assisting with the removal of the gritter.
Amey North East announced on Twitter that they expect the lane to be closed on the roundabout until at least 6pm this evening.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.40pm on Friday, 20 January, 2023, officers were made aware a lorry had overturned on the Inveralmond Roundabout, Perth.
“Emergency services attended and the driver was taken to hospital for treatment.
“Enquiries are ongoing."
