Grieving stars who found solace in pals of late partners after Sarah Greene's admission

After losing her husband Mike Smith in 2014, broadcaster Sarah Greene has revealed she's found love with his pal.

The ex-Blue Peter star, 64, is dating one of TV presenter's oldest friends, ex-British touring car champion Robb Gravett.

She told the My Time Capsule podcast: “[Mike] is has undoubtedly been responsible for me meeting my beloved, who was one of his oldest friends."

As Sarah inspires others who've lost a partner to find love again, we take a look at how friends will always be there for you - especially in the celeb world.

Kris and Bruce Jenner

Way before she was a famous momager, Kris, 66, her late husband Robert and now ex-husband Bruce Jenner, 72, used to hang out.

The trio mixed in the same LA circles and Bruce and the lawyer were known to be friends.

Kris and Robert divorced in 1991 and she married the Olympian eight years later.

When Robert was diagnosed with terminal cancer he called upon Bruce to take care of his kids.

Kendall and Kylie's father promised he would 'always take care' of Kourtney, Kim, Khloe and Rob when their father was no longer around.

However when Bruce transitioned to Caitlyn after her 2013 split from the matriarch, stepdaughter Khloe accused the reality TV regular of failing to keep her promise.

Faith Evans and Stevie J

First lady of hip hop Faith Evans, 48, married her ex-husband Biggie's friend Stevie J in 2018.

At the time the music producer didn't think the artist known as Notorious B.I.G would have a problem with the nuptials because he'd just want Faith to be "happy".

Stevie told TMZ : "I’m sure he’d be happy that she’s happy".

The Love and Hip Hop star, who is the godfather of Faith and Biggie's son, C.J. Wallace continued: “He’d be doing his thing. I just make sure that she’s good and we’re good. Long as me and her are good, and the kids are good — between us we have 10 children, so that’s a lot."

Faith also said her late husband wouldn’t have minded because while he and Stevie were pals, they weren’t part of the same crew.

“If I started dating Lil Cease or Nino [Brown] or Banger or somebody, then I would look at myself like, ‘B***, what are you doing?’” she admitted.

Despite Biggie's supposed acceptance, the couple split last year.

Nigella Lawson and Charles Saatchi

Celebrity chef Nigella's late husband John Diamond was pals with her now ex-husband Charles Saatchi.

The trio, along with Charles' former wife Kay Hartenstein, reportedly shared a villa together in Tuscany.

As Nigella, 62, and Charles, 78, spent time together before John's death in 2001, some speculated the two were more than friends.

However, the mum-of-two told the Guardian in 2002: "I didn't have a relationship with Charles.

"I mean, I had a relationship with him that was quite a close one, but it wasn't a sexual one. People often say to me, 'Did [John] want you to go to Charles afterwards?' and I don't know.

"He certainly wanted me to remarry. But, to be honest, when people die they detach themselves from life, they don't sit there thinking about the future that doesn't include them."

Charles and Nigella married in 2003 before splitting up 10 years later.

Naya and Ryan (Ryan Dorsey/Instagram)

After the tragic death of Glee actress Naya Rivera, it was reported the father of her child Ryan Dorsey was living with the actress' sister, Nickalya, 28.

Naya tragically drowned aged just 33 while boating with her son, Josey, then four, in 2020.

There was speculation Nickayla was dating Ryan, 33, but the model wrote on Instagram at the time: “In the darkest time of my life, the only thing that is important is my friends and family.

“Showing up for my nephew, even though I can’t show up for myself. [I’m] not concerned with the way things look because no one can see each agonising moment we all endure.

"What matter most I’ve learned, is to show compassion, not to judge others, & never take a moment of life for granted. I hope you all can do the same.”

Two years later the pair are reportedly still living together.
