Grieving son loses battle to stay in council home of 50 years after mum's death

A grieving son has lost a court battle to stay in his council home of 50 years following the death of his mother.

Steve White, 53, has been ordered by the local authority to leave his childhood home within a month - less than a week after the death of his 81-year-old mum.

The lift engineer moved in as a child with his parents in 1974 and has lived in the three-bed semi in Bredon Avenue, Stourbridge, West Mids., for 48 years.
