Greta Thunberg's Andrew Tate putdown among top 10 most-liked tweets in history

Greta Thunberg's brutal clap back at Andrew Tate's troll tweet over his supercar collection has become one of the most-liked tweets of all time within just three days.

The Swedish climate activist was tweeted on Tuesday by four-time kickboxing world champion Tate with a message bragging about the massive emissions of his fleet of supercars. He joked that he would need her email address to send further details of how much his collection was contributing to his carbon footprint.

And after taking around a day to reply, Thunberg fired back with a message of her own, which was viewed over 150million times and hit 3.2million likes within just three days. The threshold to make the top 30 tweets was 2.7m, which was achieved by boyband BTS with their December 2021 tweet celebrating the birthday of member Jimin.

Tate's original message read: "Hello Greta Thunberg. I have 33 cars. My Bugatti has a w16 8.0L quad turbo. My TWO Ferrari 812 competizione have 6.5L v12s. This is just the start. Please provide your email address so I can send a complete list of my car collection and their respective enormous emissions."

His message was read over 100million times, and took Thunberg a day to respond to, before she hit back at the former fighter with her own cheeky reply, saying: "Yes, please do enlighten me. Email me at smalld***energy@getalife.com." Her tweet got considerably more engagement and has now become the seventh most-liked tweet in history within record time.

Thunberg's tweet is still gaining traction, and last night overtook the first posts from US President Joe Biden and his Vice-President Kamala Harris after they were confirmed to have won the 2020 election. They both garnered around 3million likes, which Thunberg smashed through within 72 hours of posting.

Tate has had a niche fanbase online for years through his kickboxing, podcast appearances and controversial postings about women and business. But he blew up to massive fame this year, drawing criticism for his views which have been described as misogynistic and dangerous. He was banned from all social media earlier this year but returned to Twitter when Elon Musk bought the platform.

However, it is unlikely that she will reach the top spot, with over 7million people hitting their heart when Chadwick Boseman's family announced the actor's passing in August 2020. They shared a photo with a message reading: "It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman.

"Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016 and battled with it these last 4 years as it progressed to stage IV. A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought many of the films you have come to love so much. From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson's Ma Rainey's Black Bottom and several more, all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy.

"It was the honour of his career to bring King T'Challa to life in Black Panther. He died in his home, with his wife and family by his side. The family thanks you for your love and prayers, and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time."
