A new Greggs store is set to open in Edinburgh city centre that will even have views of the castle, if plans are approved by the council..
Located at 19 Castle Street, the building's ground floor space had previously been occupied by Lloyds TSB and a temporary gin experience, but has been lying vacant for some time.
Now hoping for the unit to become their latest bakery in the capital, the popular chain have applied to add their signage to the front of the shop, as well as make a number of changes inside.

Following the classic Greggs decor and layout, the new shop is set to have inside seating as well as an outdoor terrace similar to neighbours Costa further down the street.
Proposing the external tables, the covers will even have views of the castle for customers to enjoy as they tuck into their steak bakes and sausage rolls.

Creating a large kitchen and freezer in the back, plans also detail that a staff office will be created, as well as toilets, an accessible till and two large sandwich and drinks cabinets.
Put forward to the council this week, an official decision is yet to be confirmed on the proposals.
