Greg Taylor's 'unbelievable' Celtic consistency hailed by Kieran Tierney after 'unfair' comparisons

Kieran Tierney has hailed Greg Taylor's 'unbelievable' consistency.

The former Celtic and Arsenal star says it is unfair that fans compare the duo.

Taylor arrived at Parkhead from Kilmarnock as Tierney's successor and has taken time to win over the Hoops faithful.

Scotland international Taylor featured 35 times for Ange Postecoglou's men as they recaptured the Premiership title from Rangers and lifted the Premier Sports Cup.

His recent form has landed deserved praise, and KT is delighted for his fellow left-back.

He told the Scottish Sun: "Greg has got qualities I don’t have. I know people compare him with me at Celtic.

"But no player should be compared with another. It’s unfair. Everyone’s got different qualities.

"His consistency for Celtic has been unbelievable."

Another player who has had a remarkable turnaround at Celtic is fellow full-back Anthony Ralston.

The 23-year-old was on the fringes until Postecoglou's arrival, but he took his big chance and has now established himself as a key member of the title-winning team.

His form was rewarded with a new long-term contract as well as international recognition.

Ralston is part of Steve Clarke's squad for the World Cup play-off with Ukraine and the Nations League openers.

And Tierney is delighted for his former team-mate.

He said: "Tony's been brilliant and I’m delighted for him.

"He’s another ex-Celtic team-mate and I know how hard he works for what he gets.

"Tony’s been on a few loan spells but has never given up on making it at Celtic."

On ever-present Callum McGregor, KT added: "I speak to Callum regularly. I’m so happy for him and how his career’s going.

"He was a natural fit for Celtic captain and the title success has underlined how good a leader he is.

"He’s a top player and an even better guy."
