The family of a generous young girl have launched a fundraiser as she sheds her hair for children's hospice LauraLynn.
Sarah Morris will have around 14 inches of her hair cut off in the Greenhills salon Kolours and Kuts this Saturday. The young girl has been growing her hair for over a year after her curiosity was piqued about the important charity.
Her mother Lynn explained that Sarah first heard about the charity through a television ad and wanted to make a small gesture in aid of the children's hospice. While all funds raised will go towards LauraLynn, her hair will be donated to either the Little Princess Trust or The Rapunzel Foundation, two charities which provide real hair wigs for sick children.

Lynn told Dublin Live: "The whole plan was to do it before her birthday as she turns seven next week. She's a very inquisitive girl and once we told her what LauraLynn does, she wanted to help."
Lynn explained that while Sarah is typically quite girly, she's excited to make a radical change and sport a short hairstyle. The young girl has received huge support from the wider community ahead of her upcoming hair appointment.
The fundraiser smashed its initial €1000 target, causing Lynn to raise the bar to €2000. She said she is immensely proud of her young daughter's selflessness and would encourage other children to get involved with the charity's Locks of Love campaign.
She added: "We are blown away by what she’s done, as is my husband and her big sister Emma. Everyone is going through hard times at the moment but it’s amazing how people come together for such an important foundation, really it inspires you."
Sarah has received great support from local businesses around Dublin 12. She attends Holy Spirit Junior School in Greenhills and has had the backing of her peers as she gets ready to part with her hair.
People can make a contribution towards Sarah's fundraiser through IDonate. The fundraiser will remain open until the end of June, with all money going directly towards the LauraLynn foundation.
