AMARAVATI: In a move to provide relief to several drought-hit villages in Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh government has decided to extend the proposed Varikapudisela lift irrigations scheme to Pullalacheruvu mandal of Yerragondapalem constituency.
The original scheme was designed to provide irrigation and drinking water to Durgi, Veldurthi, Macherla, Gurazala and Bollapalli mandals in Palnadu district. However, the scheme has been revised following the insistence of municipal administration minister Dr Adimulapu Suresh to provide irrigation and drinking water to Pullalacheruvu mandal.
